Non-Discrimination Policy
Intrinsic does not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, gender, national origin, religion, ancestry, marital status, or need for special education services. Enrollment at Intrinsic will be open to any pupil who resides within the boundary of the city of Chicago. If there are more eligible applicants for enrollment than spaces available, successful applicants will be selected by lottery. The lottery will provide each student an equal chance at admission. Each student randomly selected for admission will be notified by print and electronic notice and there will be no subsequent admissions process that operates as a barrier to registration or enrollment. Disclosure of IEP status is not required as part of the application process. Intrinsic will serve students with disabilities in the same manner as students with disabilities are served in other public schools and the full continuum of services will be available and provided in the Least Restrictive Environment. All advertisements will include a disclaimer of non-discrimination. Intrinsic, for the purposes of advertisement and enrollment, may undertake additional activities including, but not limited to, enrollment days, open houses, and community events. Participation in these additional activities will neither be required as a condition of enrollment nor will Intrinsic discriminate against any person in the course of any of these additional activities.
