Samual Cavazos

11th Grade Math Teacher

Mr. Cavazos is excited to be teaching 11th grade math at Intrinsic this year. He studied mathematics at the University of Texas-Pan American before moving to Chicago, where he obtained an M.S. in mathematics under an NSF fellowship at Northwestern University in 2015. Mr. Cavazos has published in the fields of bio-mathematics and algebraic geometry, and has received numerous awards for his work on Character Varieties. Throughout his years at the university, Mr. Cavazos worked closely with local educators in various outreach projects aimed at increasing minority students interest in STEM fields. It was his time with these students that allowed his passion for education to bloom. Mr. Cavazos enjoys learning, writing music with his guitar, and cooking.
