Mike Walsh

World Studies Teacher (9th)


Mr. Walsh is one of the founding teachers of the school. Before Intrinsic, Mr. Walsh was a founding teacher and Social Studies Department Chair at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He was also a founding Special Education and Social Studies teacher at Bronx Leadership Academy II, in New York. He also served in the United States Peace Corps from 2002-2004 in Suriname, South America. He holds a B.A. in Social Science and History from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn., and an M.A. in Teaching Students with Disabilities from Teachers College Columbia University New York, N.Y. Mike holds a New York State Professional Teaching Certificate for grades 7-12 in Social Studies and Special Education. Mr Walsh is a Chicago native and currently lives in the Jefferson Park neighborhood with his wife and three children.
